Lost long ago, the original badge lay hidden beneath the shifting sediment of London's Thames foreshore until it was discovered by a mudlarker. Now carefully reproduced in solid sterling silver, showing all of its original markings this remarkable piece allows a fragment of medieval history to be worn once more.
The scallop shell has long been the symbol of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. For medieval travellers, it represented protection, guidance and faith.
